You said the vaccine works for 5 - 8 months. It didn't exist 8 months ago so how can any study show that it will work for that long?
You can't compare it to the flu vaccine because the flu virus mutates quicker than the sars-cov2 virus.
As far as science goes, we know that people who had the original sars virus in 2003 still have reactive t-cells to it 17 years later. So it may be the same with sars-cov2, but we won't know for sure until 17 years has passed. As long as the virus only mutates slowly, there's no reason why the vaccine will only give you protection for 8 months.
