I read and feel what you are stating. If we can be truly honest with ourselves, then anything positive or negative that happens to this industry, is a direct result of our own actions and or failures. The adult industry as a whole has failed time and time again to self regulate. If we cannot properly manage it ourselves, someone else will do it for us.
Me, I have no skin left in this game. I visit GFY and X**Z as a distraction, to entertain myself, and occasionally help out someone that may be in need of some direction. I can imagine that PornHub and the others are working overtime internally to correct course. All the others sites are doing their knee jerk reactions to what is playing out.
PornHub will likely survive this, as they distance themselves from the illegal content, and focus strictly on the content legally provided by the registered producers. That part of the business, the legit side, will only survive, if the studios stick with them. If the studios were to rise to the moral occasion and say "no" we wont do business with PornHub for what they allegedly did to us in the past, PornHub would have very limited content from their own in house/contracted producers. In that scenario, they would no longer be the "Hub" for "Porn" and their traffic dominance would go away, and instead would available to the independent platforms to attract. Make sense?
