I have a Lenovo laptop. It's new. It's got a SSD but it makes a lot of noise from the fan. Why?
My wife has a cheapo gereric laptop with no branding. $200 cheaper.
Hers is also SSD but with much smaller HDD. Hers is always silent.
Admittedly I do use it a lot and it's on for several hours but usually it's only browsing the web with 5-10 tabs open and a few apps running in the background.
She does a lot of photoshop. I literally never even hear the fan on hers. Why?
Is mine broke?

This is such a unique situation.
Lenovos are always loud, make sure your laptop is elevated a bit, like don't use it while it's on your lap, if it's on the desk - buy a cooler special type of cooler people put under the laptop to keep the cpu cool. I assume you keep everything clean so dust is not the issue here. Lenovos have a bad reputation because of their cooling system, often a stronger computers suffer more since their CPU heats up much more but the cooling system is the same as on the weaker models. SSD or HDD don't play a role in this. Also if your wife does photoshop she stresses the computer much more than you if you are only browsing even with 20 tabs open. Make sure the computer doesn't have any dents that can cause the fan to be unstable. Hope it helps, stay safe bud
