yeah it's so easy right? oNLyFaNs - just start an oNLyFaNs br0...
Just ask the porn virgin, I mean the porn nerd, and baddog - their onlyfans are probably quite popular now
Onlyfans is for thots or whatever kind of 'influencer' that already have huge followings because they are popular, like 50k, 100k, 1million or more followers, and want to skip learning how to create a website and implementing merchant processing. So they can use 'onlyfans' like a social network which isn't too technical for them, with the added bonus that onlyfans is like a household word now
It's not for gfy randos after they smoked a joint while needing to pay their bills and thought "hey, yeah i know, i can make an oNLyFaNs too and because its only oNLyFaNs instead of baladsaladdvtimes.com it'll make money"
The added bonus of 'onlyfans' being a hot word right now, is not enough for you to create an onlyfans and then all of the sudden get sales.
As Colmike9 mentioned, Patreon is better for non-adult things - but it suffers from it's own pitfalls. What's better about Patreon - you can charge people with Paypal (always converts better than CC Billing), the interface is better both for users and creators. What's worse - their take on adult content is iffy at best, and the way people signup for your Patreon and unlock your content is very different from a traditional paysite model and experimental at best.
Without getting into all the specifics, Onlyfans is a bit more aggressive with billing, and is aimed towards the creator, being able to charge monthly subscriptions, per post subscriptions, etc and whatever else, while Patreon's system sort of screws creator's over a little bit and allows people to signup as a Patron to you and then cancel (for free) before their month is finished.
