Still new at this... but from what I have learned is that a lot of it comes from how realistic the character is.... textures, colors, shadings.... Second is how well it's animated.

Even with software to help automate the animation, you still need to go through piece by piece and tweak things here and there. Having the mocap equipment also makes a huge difference. You need great facial recognition and movement capture for the most realistic movements. I think the biggest give away is the hair. Especially longer hair... More realistic hair is needed.

I have been learning this since the middle of Jan. It is a hell of a lot of fun... at least for me. When starting a new game, the character creation is my favorite part so making characters is a game to me, not work.

The animation on the other hand, is fun, but a fuck of a lot of work.... Especially without the mocap gear and doing it by hand. So close.... only another 4k is needed. Woo Hoo!!!
