Years ago while shooting a movie in Prague, I took the leading American actress for dinner in one of Prague restaurants. Prague has a river Vltava running thru it. After we crossed the river she asked me:" What country are we in now?", my answer was obvious :" We are still in the Czech republic". She pondered a bit and then, with utmost seriousness stated:" That is unusual, in America when you cross a river you are in another state" .
Since then I am sensitive to such "Americana"
