We use both smartphones, a high quality 4k Sony and a video camera, depending the shoot. For outdoor footage, the smartphone is much easier, for obvious reasons. The quality of footage is great, the problem comes to the sound, the wind noise can be apparent. While using a video camera, we use ex. mic and wind socks.
