Dogs are great and they require socialization. You walk them several times a day for exercise and enjoy being outside. Find the local rescue organization and tell them that you can’t afford the vet. They can hook you up with an inexpensive vet. Pet shelters can provide you with food if you can’t afford it.
The pandemic has forced a lot of people into isolation. Find online forums for your hobbies or tv shows. Volunteer at the food bank.
