Amsterdam coffeeshops suck since 2010.
It has changed so much, even Barneys and Greenhouse are selling shit!
No good stuff can be found there. Nothing of that you should inhale, itīs really bad everywhere.
And you can read about it on Reddit and Coffeeshop forums since years.
It was time to shut few of them down.
In the redlight area I had plenty fun, but like many other rip-off experiences xD
To be honest, in comparison with German redlight areas, I would rate Amsterdam 2/5 and Germany 5/5.
Also because in Germany a visit to such an area is not needed, on the web are so many profile listings for hundreds of woman in every city. You just go to the address, ring the bell and you are in a clean place with good service and normal prices.
If you want to rent a room in Amsterdam besides AirBnb you go to Kamernet.nl
There you can find rooms for $450-700 a month. Not guaranteed it works out if you are abroad, but actually not an issue if you can afford $600 or 700 per month.
There are also hotelrooms for sailors you can get for 50-80 per day. You simply can get those, cheap and super clean!
A very good German hotel in the Keizersgracht 733 I used a while back, when I had job interviews.... lol
