our wedding rings were recycled beaten silver purchased off etsy for like $40 each
we eloped in Toronto before leaving Canada so our entire wedding costs were $200 for the marriage license and $8 for round trip subway fare to and from city hall. we got married in jeans and hoodies

but yeah, we were really happy...until we weren't. even though we were both conscious of the risk, over time the marriage did end up affecting our relationship. my advice would be, if you don't have to for some practical reason, don't do it
