I started a new gig five years ago that I stumbled across while making chat bots for Backpage. It did ok for the time but I didn't really notice because my dating stuff was making so much. Then I backed off after Backpage got shut down and rediscovered it when the pandemic started. I put a half-assed effort into it after Trump lost the election, now here I am working part time hours, still doing my own thing at home for 24 years now, but for a different industry. My dating site still bring in enough to have a couple of nice lunches a week with some friends or make a car payment, but that's it.
My non-adult stuff makes enough to live however I want.
If you've got some passive adult income keep it going, but if you have to spend actual time on a project, adult would be the last thing I'd pick. Almost anything else make more money.
