I grew up in South Florida, and we didn't get the Howard Stern show until around 1993. But we had The Ron and Ron show, and I was a regular at the events they used to have in Ft Lauderdale and Tampa. Opie and Anthony I didn't get to hear until they went to XM, but damn those first few years on XM were amazing. I didn't know what happened to Ron Bennington after Ron and Ron split until Ron and Fez signed with XM, and those first few years on XM were some of the best radio I ever heard. Neither show could exist in today's shitty cancel culture climate.
I've listened on and off to The Bennington Show with Ron and his daughter, and it's good but it's just not the same. Ron has definitely mellowed out in his later years. I'm still holding out hope that one day Ron and Anthony could do a permanent show together, but I think that ship has sailed...
