Will it fuck! Think of it like this. You have a car, and its top speed is 100mph. Now you obviously dont drive everywhere, all day long at 100mph - You cant ! Normal roads you cant go 100mph on - other traffic, pedestrians, roundabouts, junctions, traffic lights etc etc... You you basically just drive along most of the time, at about 30mph...

Then, when you go on a motorway, you might do 70mph / 80mph You might even wanna do 90 mph if the situation occurs... But you are rarely gonna do 100mph, even if it can...

But imagine now that you get on the motorway and your car will only do a maximum of 50mph. So you visit the dealer who sold you the car and say 'Why does my car only do 50mph ? When I bought it, I was told it would do 100MPH?'

Dealer says, oh yeah, it does, but I haven't enabled full speed, because if you can go 100mph, then you will probably drive at 100mph all the time and fuck your car up... So I thought Id limit your car to 50mph cause that's safer. You can still drive it, but you cant drive it anywhere near the potential its been built to be driven...

Well its like that with your PC. Just because you are enabling it to work harder and faster IF YOU NEED IT TO DO SO, then it doesn't mean you are going to be running it flat out at 100% all the time. Just that if you need it to give some more, (Like you are playing a very graphically demanding game) then it has it to give...

Is it worth it? That's up to you. Look at this video about XMP, and think about the car analogy. You bought ram that runs at a decent speed, but without XMP its only running at the slowest speed possible - Not the speed you paid for...

But at the end of the day, its your PC and if you are happy, then that's all that mattered. But if I went to a bar and ordered a pint, and the guy only filled 50% of it up, Id want the rest... And that's it really - You are just getting stuff to work how it should - Not doing some kinda trickery to circumvent things working how they are designed to work.

Plus, we are on GFY. Meaning that no one is gonna post that they agree with my advice, but if I was talking utter shit to you, or even telling you to do something that's really not advisable, they would all be flooding in to tell me I'm talking a load of shit and telling you not to listen to me.

So yeah, enable XMP on you ram 100% Nope, 1000% ! Any other 'overclock' is entirely up to you, but do your RAM...
