It's not necessarily about "legit" content creators. It's about record keeping (not every model on every video from 12 years ago has IDs or paperwork) AND not giving personal info over to a very hackable porn website. Encrypted or not, hosting, keeping (and checking?) millions of IDs is not something I want some employee at a porn site having control over.
When it comes to clips, not professional porn shoots, I highly doubt amateurs will want their info "out there" on multiple websites and platforms.
