Analytics tips on how to dig valuable data from a tube site?
Hey guys,
I guess we all use some sort of analytics (probably mostly GA) and I was wondering if there are people who watch for more than traffic sources, time on site and # of visits per session.
As a webmaster, I am trying to get some valuable data and I'm basically doing this:
- note every changes made on site to GA notes
- check if bounce rate, time on site or # of visits per session changes to see if there is a problem or some of the changes on site affect visitors
- checking which traffic sources drive the best traffic (geo, avg. time on site, etc.) and how it changes over time
- checking 404s through custom events to see if there are posts/pages that somehow disappeared, changed url or something
- checking Site Speed overview to see if there are any problems with ... sites speed
- checking what users search on site through external plugin so I know what are users interested in (helping with catching on trends)
And I guess that's it... I'm wondering if there are some experienced webmasters or maybe data analysts that could give some tips on what to look for. For example:
1) any tips on what else (meaningful) to measure using custom events?
2) are you somehow connecting data between GA and ad networks to see which pages/categories/sources bring the most money?
3) what goals can a tube site use? (Registration is the only thing that comes to my mind)
4) are there other valuable reports in GA I didn't mention and can do actions based on them?
5) Are popunders ruining the data about bounce rate, etc. When my site is triggered into new tab?
And some more questions for those who made it all the way here:
6) Are you using GA4? If yes, is it worth it?
7) I'm using one GA Account -> Property -> View for all tube sites I own so I can see stats for all of them together and don't have to dig through 10s of Properties/Views. And it already has limitations like data volume limits, data sampling while using filters, stats are displayed with approx 12h delay (basically I never see todays data, just yesterdays). Any tips on how to solve this? Can I use multiple properties to use one with all the sites together and then other ones splitted for each site?
8) Any tips on sources where to learn really valuable info about data analytics that are applicable for sites like tube sites? As most seems like focused on ecommerce stores and things are quite different on a porn site compared to eshop
Hope we can share something interesting as analytics is definitely big part of our job as webmasters/online marketers.
Have a great day!
