Duke, I think most don't have the mind and skill set to execute a pre check cross sale properly.
Ideally the cross sale is:
- compliments the existing offering of a product or service
- adds significant value for both the consumer/buyer and the platform owner/seller
(For the site owner they should also gain new customers directly from the alternate site they are pushing)
- the precheck is not hidden/tucked away, but appears boldly as the new main suggested offering
- all parties involved have easy to execute processes to cancel, refund, or credit the buyer in the event they change there mind
nothing wrong with cross sales, but it's risky when it's pre-checked.
