The new Dune, I would prefer as a mini-series, because I am ready for the next episode and this could definitely keep going on the detail. I loved everything from the acting and directing to the scenic design to the costumes to the creative casting. I have a pretty big TV to watch at home, but I am still a little curious about what it looks like in 3D. Then again, I never got around to seeing Avatar in 3D.
Believe it or not the Director's Cut of the 1984 Dune is amazing! It is four longs tho lol.

The first book is a stone cold classic. But about halfway through the second one the story got super complex and I lost interest. I hate it when stories encompass thousands of years. The scope becomes too grand and each individual drama in the story seems meaningless when you jump ahead (or back) thousands of years.

Avatar in 3D was cool as shit but being super stoned highly recommended.

(I will only see this Dune after part two comes out.)
