"Bret" - To clarify, I do not "side with" or in any way condone what you term as extortion. I've never had any contact with irc, but if I had I would have advised him in strongest possible terms NOT to take the action he did. I would have advised him to get the proper law enforcement authorities involved. Far better solution to stopping a thieving motherfucker like David Foote.
