or black, gay Achilles in the BBC Troy series. Literally described in the book as having long flowing blonde hair.
Or shooting black Nazis in a recent Call of Duty game?
I understand the need for diversity in modern pieces - it's part of the world now - but black people were never a major part of medieval europe and I don't see what the point is in pretending otherwise.

Our parents, and our parents parents (possibly) complained about similar stuff when things were adapting for a newer generation. Like all living things, we adapt to our environment and the things around us.
A few years ago, when tubes were literally stealing money from everyone, the collective were shouting "adapt or die". It became a mantra. Why is it so difficult to adapt to a few gay or black elves?
I don't think it affected the story much replacing a white King with a black woman. If you're looking for era accuracy them maybe you need to watch documentaries instead of fictional shows.
