I also don't believe that Putin is going to go any further, I was just making an observation that in order to attack Poland or Hungary, he would have to move a lot of hardware over a very big distance, over a country with a hostile population, that wasn't known for it's great roads even before this war.
Generally speaking, I agree with you that there is a lot of propaganda coming out of the Ukraine side here (as well as the Russian side). I think no one should blindly believe anything the media says especially after the whole covid shitshow. I don't believe in the existence of Ghost of Kiev. I've already posted a lot about UA propaganda here so I agree with you 100%. I also said that the 13 snake island people was horseshit too long before it turns out they were alive. The fact that they are alive even makes the whole thing worse - they were heroes because they didn't surrender despite insurmountable odds, and it turns out they did surrender. They didn't "capture" them. No one chased them around the island and caught them in a net, they simply surrendered (which was smart because what will they do against a warship?). Further to that, the news here keeps reporting number of dead Russian soldiers according to UA ministry of defense, but at the same time never says how many UA soldiers died. Only how many civilians and children. So all in all, I don't really believe either side of the media because it's all horse shit made of lies and omitted information. I hear report that Russians hit a residential building, but they might leave out that there was a guy shooting at them from window to form public opinion.
This said, even completely ignoring the media a lot of us here know a lot of Ukrainians. I know a bunch myself. We have a huge UA population in Poland, something like 2,3 million Ukrainians working here and now we just took 500k refugees so far from Ukraine. There was a 40km lineup of cars at the border. We know this from people leaving that country for sure. If the 500k number is real I don't know but I do know that it's impossible to rent a flat anywhere in the country at this point and people have a hard time finding places for them.
None the less, call it what you want - liberation, war, etc, but the Russian army IS hitting civilian targets and there are tons of dead civilians and children, and it is very, very clear - and again not from cnn but from first and second hand accounts of people we physically know - that the Ukrainians are not especially happy that their "liberators" arrived. The story about de-nazification is not especially convincing either, since they want to remove a jew as president. There is a very real war going on with probably both sides lying about why it's happening.
