I prefer receiving ACH and I prefer sending ACH. Cheaper and typically easier. Wires are just a pain.

An idea to alleviate this concern would be to set up a secondary checking account and use that only for your ACH payments, then transfer to your normal account as needed or even automated. Capital One has some nice "online only" options and pay higher interest than most (even though it's laughable no matter where you go.)
