One problem and one the age verification firms had and I believe still have is that the UK government stated that they could not store or sell peoples info.
I had the feeling that the business model was to set up age verification free then sell the data, and the UK government said NO.
Also I believe they could not store data too.
I tried the test site out, using a dead credit card and managed to sign up. In fact a reporter contacted me after reading about how I did it on my site/blog, and published it as if he had done it. It was in a major UK newspaper. I was told this story is why the age verification idea was dropped the first time in the UK.
