For a solid object to reflect light on its entirety, it has to be flat or concave.
If the reflector is convexe (like a sphere), every ray of light points in a direct line with the radius, perpendicular to the surface resulting in no reflection.

No one suggested it reflects on its entire surface. Have you never heard of the dark side of the moon?
