I heard an interview with Stephen Fry (on Graham Norton, maybe?), and apparently he had trouble in one of the earlier books saying "Harry pocketed it" and asked J.K. Rowling if he could just say 'Harry put it in his pocket' and she said no. And then - no doubt intentionally - the phrase showed up in each book after.
I don't really have a favorite - but I haven't read the first book, for whatever reason.
