Platforms asserting authority over this type of space is a slippery slope, especially when such things are done with complete bias. We've seen first-hand that this does indeed happen, and the result is suppressing and/or outright censoring that which the "moderators" and "fact-checkers" don't like. Again, it's a matter of rules and regulations being applied differently based on ideology.
This type of abuse of 'authority' is the primary reason Musk bought Twitter, to begin with. What he does with it remains to be seen.

Eh, I agree in principle, but I've seen a lot of ideologues (on both sides) scream until they're blue in the face that a fact isn't a fact, so a lot of that is really just whining that their ideology doesn't align with reality. It's rampant on the right in the last few years, but the left certainly isn't innocent either.
