Re the videos, I would just not worry about all the fine details too much, just go ahead and make your first videos, and upload them. You will get feedback from YouTube.

- Presentation style should be upbeat and good pace of delivery.
- Make sure camera is of reasonable quality, and use image stabilisation.
- Make sure your audio is OK, and windproof your mic. Check your sound levels so people don't get deafened by changes in volume.
- Obvious one, but take a look at stats for other channels to see what is working.
- Title and thumbnail are critical to video's success.
- Try and upload on a regular schedule.
