I'm not actualy saying that there aren't global trends, ebbs and flows, superbowl-type events, etc, that don't have an affect on online sales.
What I was trying to say is that those rarely trickle down to low volume affiliates, and that if you are seeing a drop (or an increase!) it is more likely a result of your efforts rather than a global economic/social trend. If you make 5-10 sales a day, but in August you made 160 sales instead of 190, that is not a summer slowdown.
This is just an another example of my opposition to "passive affiliates" who create random sites, put up links, and hope for the best, rather than treating this like a business.
