Good point - S.I.S.O. (Shit In Shit Out) What sort of camera are you using to create the original footage? Perhaps the problem is with the camera?
Not trying to say you are using a shit camera... Just that its possible a setting on the camera has been changed by accident, and while its not immediately apparent when using the camera, it is causing a degraded quality for your edit?
