I'm glad it has. What I did leave out was that I spent a great deal of time starting in my youth meditating. Learning to separate and identify each part of my body and mind. In that state I was able to calm myself down or create a space that changed my perception of reality. Started really when I had ulcerative colitis as a teenager due to stress. A family member had began teaching me technics of breathing and being able to focus my mind. That crossed over into dreams. I started having them - writing them down - understanding them - and then as more happened I could see usually through people that normally shouldn't be around - that were there - OR the dream that had odd twists like a staircase moving upwards defying logic.
As said - oddly enough never have I used it for my own desires or self gratification but only self awareness and knowledge. Guess I didn't want to misuse the ability to alter my dreams in anyways. I can still remember my first dream as a kid - running from this horrible monster during winter. I was terrified until my mind told me - this creature should not exist. I agreed and decided to stop running - I turned - and started running right for the monster. I went straight through it as if it was a cloud and suddenly I was on a hill with tall grass around - one tree and a bunch of chairs. Then several people I never knew sat down and I started asking questions. It was then I realized how to recognize lucid dreams.
