In a bank. Any extra cash for example christmas gifts (2k) I keep in an envelop in a book on a shelf that I know no one in the house will grab or read. Only person who knows about it is my wife. Anything else for future is in PayPal and used to keep bank account level for mortgages and house expenditures.
