If robbers get into your house, there's a very good chance that they'll find it. In plain sight or under the mattress, in the freezer, or in your linens - they know all of the places. Unless you have some serious hiding places like loose floorboards or camouflaged safe boxes, where you put the cash stash you choose to have at home is irrelevant. The only other reason to choose wisely is to hide it from kids who love drawing a little too much.
