Tell us about your Brand! How did you get started in the industry?

My partner Todd and began filming for Yanks in 2002 in San Diego, CA. We were both nightclub bartenders and saw the potential of the internet. Because we lived in the counterculture already, porn was the obvious ecommerce model to pursue. We had no experience as photographers, videographers or web designers so we had to teach ourselves everything. We built our own video editing computer, which back then was a big deal. We built sound and lighting solutions from a hardware store. In our shoots, we codified affirmative consent before it went mainstream. We introduced ourselves officially to the industry at large at the Phoenix Forum in 2003.

What inspires you to make the type of content you do?

In 2002 most porn sites embodied the Girl Next Door as a young blond cheerleader type; we had a hunch the Girl Next Door could be more. We wanted all types of attractive women spanning all different shapes, skin shades, heights, body types, ages, and attitudes towards sex, they were all welcome. A Yanks girl conveyed the best version of herself on the day of the shoot. We believed very girl is someone’s fantasy when she is the truest version of herself, that notion was our inspiration
Our tagline “Real Girls, Real Orgasms” would be our holy grail, an end goal we reestablished with every new model. Our models performed differently; they were comfortable enough with us in our space to allow us a brief window into their true sexual selves while Todd and I capture it all on film.

What has been your favorite part of joining the Pornhub Content Partner Program?

We have been a content partner of Pornhub since day one. I love our healthy relationship, between us as content producers and Pornhub as a platform. I have enjoyed witnessing Pornhub’s recognition of our stories and vast the world of adult content production is. To be successful, you need to appreciate porn in all its shapes and flavors. We are happy to have our flavor of porn being represented well on Pornhub!

You donate a portion of your earnings to Charity, please tell us about that.

We believe every company, adult or otherwise, should have a philanthropy as one of its objectives. We support Call to Safety (calltosafety.org), with their mission to end domestic and sexual violence by providing confidential support services and education. Both myself and my partner Todd grew up in homes in which domestic violence was a constant presence, so their mission is important to us personally. Call to Safety also works directly with sex workers. So, for us coming from the adult industry in which we rely on people to reveal their sexual sides and expose their vulnerabilities, helping them in their mission was a no brainer. We have worked with Call to Safety for almost 5 years now donating $1 of every new sale at Yanks and YanksVR. We make this donation publicly and are allowed to hyperlink directly to them. This is emblematic of who we are as creators.
