Cessna's can be bought from 40k euroes, and another option is to simply rent, which is quite convenient if you want arrive from one city to another fast and there are no commercial flights available.
I set out for a commercial license in the early 70's. Back then the airlines did not like re-training military pilots. Shortly thereafter, the Viet Nam war ended and dumped a huge surplus of military pilots on the market. I was told it would take 10 years for the market to absorb these pilots. It turns out that was a pretty accurate prediction. So I moved on to something else, but never lost the fun of flying. My Cessna 150 back then cost $5k. Don't know what it's worth now.
