I also think VPS is a good match for this workload. Cloud hosting just isn't really necessary for this project and definitely isn't the most cost-effective solution. With this concept that not all cores are created equal, your VPS hosting choice is probably driven more by ram. As far as disk I/O is concerned, this is also a typical bottleneck, but you won't find that the case with MojoVPS because they are using the latest NVMe.
