I get where you're coming from but to me, the problem with your phrase is that it doesn't address the fact that different 'clusters' have had, and continue to have, patterns of differential experiences that are related to skin shade and access to wealth
I like the word reify. basically means something does not actual exist but is real in practice/consequences
that's why I personally always use 'social race', to recognize that skin colour and econ status are how those inclined towards bias tend to select their biases. intellectually lazy and it's easy to do. and not just a white people thing
ignorant, scared of others and absent imagination to fathom any life beyond their own milieu
as to what to call them when they act out? bigot is nice old-fashioned term that fits the bill to me. yours is cool, just has some gaps in encompassing the issues I think
as to baddog, I have no opinion, nor should I as on any board other than gfy you'd get banned for questioning a mod's choices
I was more Klen style when I was mod of a pretty big board, peeps had an issue I'd rather discuss it than clamp down on critique. I listened, I explained as much as I could, but never once did I change a well-thought out decision I made, in conjunction with co-mods. not sure about here but most boards with a mod team don't ban 'real' members (as in, not spammers or fake nics), without team collaboration
Baddog wasn't banned for racism this time, I don't think, unless I missed something new which is entirely possible. for his racial slur he'd already served his time for that, and came back in a snit acting to me very much like someone cranky who decided to shit all over everything he saw thwarting his 'right' to act like a snark posting reactionary one-liners in a place that was a lil out of his sea depth in terms of maintaining composure
no one in the basement maintains composure, but there's still a level of trying to convey a point. no matter how insane that point is
part of the charm down there. he totally lost the plot on that, just was a surly snarky man on his way to prob getting banned again for something he'd eventually say. if you look at his posting trajectory (not that I have in depth, and won't, just saw him around down there) it's been downhill for a while
he needed a rest, Klen et al gave him one by blocking him from our playroom for the insane
and then he started a thread titled 'attention advertisers' warning about spending money here cuz he couldn't post in the basement
how much of the mod's time is supposed to be spent managing his issues?

I have had so many wicked friends banned here and we didn't cry or muss or fuss. lots of writing in my tear-stained diary and eating ice cream in the dark but we made it through
