True Story - One of my first times stateside, & I'm part of 'The Tampa Shows Caravan Of Stars' - We are all getting ferried around to different clubs and venues etc, where the public can meet the girls and get autographs etc...
So we all go in the back way to this club, and find ourselves in the VIP room - Away from the general public. Well this girl comes up and asks if I'd like a beer, so I said 'sure, why not?'
Off she goes then reappears 5 mins later and hands me a small bottle of beer, and says $10 please. So I hand her $10, say thankyou, and she gives me the most filthy fucking look I've ever had from someone in the service industry! Then she fucks off!
Well, I didn't know I was supposed to tip her! I had zero fucking idea! I had only been in the US for about 24 hours! How was I to know? &, believe it or not, I still feel kinda bad about that even now - I shouldn't, as it wasn't my fault, however I do...
So after that, in the states, I always added a tip, as it was 'expected' - But I never tip in the UK, as its not...
