They want to forbid children younger than 14 on social media.
And age verification to see if they are 18 already.
So i guess, if parents donīt want their children on social media before 14, they should start parenting.
To protect "children" age 14 - 18 we give up privacy and start a controlled internet.
Billions are wasted while even in western worlds there are children under poverty.

States’ online age verification requirements may bear more risks than benefits, report says
A new report from the Open Technology Institute suggests that state laws designed to protect minors online haven't fully considered risks to free speech, data privacy and security. Some state age verification requirements designed to keep underage users from accessing “adult” content online may bear more risks than benefits, according to a report released Tuesday.

Age Verification Mandates Would Undermine Anonymity Online
Age verification systems are surveillance systems. Mandatory age verification, and with it, mandatory identity verification, is the wrong approach to protecting young people online. It would force websites to require visitors to prove their age by submitting information such as government-issued identification. This scheme would lead us further towards an internet where our private data is collected and sold by default. The tens of millions of Americans who do not have government-issued identification may lose access to much of the internet. And anonymous access to the web could cease to exist.
Why We Are Against Age Verification Mandates
Age verification laws don’t just impact young people. It’s necessary to confirm the age of all website visitors, in order to keep out one select age group.
