An actual large amount of the German army was on drugs similar to meth. It's how they were able to perform Blitzkriegs. Soldiers and tank operators were blitzed out of their minds on meth and were operating non-stop for days at a time.

There are some really interesting documentaries on how Nazis used drugs effectively during the war. Notably, a drugged-out soldier wasn't as reluctant to shoot people or commit mass murder compared to a sober soldier.
