AI is a tool. A tool that can be used as a very cheap, more knowledgeable and much more efficient virtual assistant. A tool is only as good as the person using it. You still have to have enough brains to properly use it. If you can have a conversation on this forum, you likely have enough brains to at least do the basic prompts that can get some shit going and save you some money.
But for those of us with a better grip on words and above average problem solving skills that enable us to engineer superior prompts, AI becomes damn near a superpower that makes a lot of good people obsolete and careerless. And this is only the very beginning.
This all ties in to the consolidation of the internet to feed these things. We are in the middle of what I call the "Great Scrape" era. Buckle up.
Convenience and better prices wins. Sounds like Idiocracy, but it's not because independence is winning too if you zoom out and have the mind of a hustler.
Adapt or die.
