never seen anything useful for affiliates organized, to be honest. I came with tons of ideas; they were all... not program-friendly, meaning, where is the cash in informing people?
Most of the time we were geared to sell sponsor ships, telling those sponsors they would find new affiliates. They did not. obviously...
I've witnessed a few individuals invest large sums of money in hosting a $50,000 party with the expectation that they will reap significant rewards a week later. Nothing more but empty Skype conversations with no retention. All those are now broke or went in another direction after telling me how disappointed they were; I can't blame them.
I think shows are more for companies only to show off to each other, burn some budget, gain pics with some captains in it everywhere, and share drinks.
Unless you want to hear and see on seminairs how traffic selling companies try to show you their slide shows of their website or cam companies telling you how you can make more when you send more traffic... its the same all the time.
Maybe I am to pessimistic; I just do not see the value for affiliates unless they have something to sell to a sponsor and want some free drinks and hotel room in return.

I think there is absolutely money in informing people. What sorts of things did you suggest?
