I was mostly too lazy to transfer my wallets to an exchange, and laziness paid off. Nowadays, I just have automated buys, so it accumulates on its own. The CAGR versus VaR has been incredible every year, and even the "worst" months have just been a 30-ish % draw-down. The "losses" were quickly eclipsed by the buying opportunities.
