It's not a yearly thing but more of a constant thing. Southern California is just too dry. If a spark starts a fire when it's so dry and the winds are whipping around at eighty miles an hour and suddenly it's a huge problem. Then factor in this hilly terrain and they cannot actually get to the fire.... They are fucked.

This isn't a California only thing too. Other areas that are dry are having issues. New York and New Jersey had fires last year too.
