I don't lie and do not get involved in the politics on this board, so it is possible I simply have no idea what I'm talking about. I moved out of California in 2013 and fled a wildfire in Norcal in 2019 so my experience is limited.

Every year I do read in the news that California is negligent in their burns and forest cleanup because of environmental concerns, which is why they are more affected than regions with similar weather and fire risk.
