Funny that you call yourself an amateur historian, and I wouldn't even grace you with the term amateur; because if you knew any history you'd know that artists, the sung and unsung, many of them lived short, difficult lives that didn't amount to jack shit while they had a pulse.
They believed in themselves and produced art against all odds until the bitter end, as all true artists should do.
