This is the wrong type of Alcoholics thread but here is a few quotes that motivate me...

"I drink to make other people more interesting." - Ernest Hemingway

"Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." - Benjamin Franklin

"Alcohol may be man's worst enemy, but the Bible says love your enemy." - Frank Sinatra

"A man's true character comes out when he's drunk." - Charlie Chaplin

"To alcohol! The cause of... and solution to... all of life's problems." - Homer Simpson

"I feel bad for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." - Frank Sinatra

A woman drove me to drink and I didn't even have the decency to thank her. - W. C. Fields

“There are two kinds of people I don't trust: people who don't drink and people who collect stickers.”
― Chelsea Handler

I've quit drinking before. The last time was 8.5 months after I was in a hospital for a month back in 2008 but I found life way too boring to sit at home all the time. Now I don't drink to excess like I used to because of gout but I still drink 8-10 mixed drinks most nights. I had to give up beer because that is the worst for gout.

Also since this is an alcoholic thread if anyone else has gout the thing that helps me the most in the decade plus I've had it is 2-3 Potassium Citrate pills a day.
