I saw a YouTuber claiming last night that this was in response to Google VEO 3's release, but obviously he must have been in talks before then as it was only a week ago.
However, I wonder if he knew that the writing was on the wall?
The thing about AI videos isn't that they might become 'better' or 'sexier' than the real thing, or even that people can make their own AI porn videos, it's that there will be no way to tell what is real and what isn't soon. How will a site like OnlyFans be able to verify somebody is a real human being, when even things like passports and birth certificates can easily be faked?
And even if the model is real, they will be using AI to enhance themselves or churn out content. Lots of them already use chatbots to reply to messages.
People might always pay more for a real human connection, but not if they can't believe that the person is real.
