meh, I have pets. very cuddly and reasonably well-behaved but can't really say I 'trained' them. my cat scratches her catnip sprinkled cardboard box (which is replaced often) instead of furniture and my goat eats apple chunks instead of laundry on the line. in both cases I think I bribed them into making more pleasing choices, but a part of me would like to think they behave cuz they love me
who cares. I know they do love me, and they deserve treats either way
the bot will just be a simple tool to streamline an annoying part of work for those of us in my particular niche of adult, but the application itself generic enough that I don't have to jump through any hoops re NSFW/adult content in creating it. the bot itself will be totally vanilla, I'll just use it for prurient purposes
when in the past I needed an entire system created for a since-sold online biz, I hired a programmer. no way I would have had the time to mess around with AI even if it existed to this extent eight or so years ago
I told him what I needed, he did it, the price was reasonable, it worked perfectly, and I made two friends for life in the process
even given AI advancements in the here and now, I'd make the same choice today on every level, particularly since that project was time-sensitive
firm believer in the concept of time cost. if I can make more money per hour over what it costs to hire someone I trust, and/or do something meaningful to me even if unpaid with that saved time? worth it
this bot is kinda fun though. probs only spent 45 mins on it thus far, beyond writing out what I wanted it to do longhand in my notepad cuz I think better that way
have broken it down into portions/blocks and Claude is being great at explaining to me what the code means. I don't want to just copy/paste, I do want to learn something
figure I'll be done in the next week or so, it's not time-sensitive
not gonna anthropomorphize a bot, though I will name it. will probably call it Clive or Chloe, I like those names. I'll praise it as a good bot I guess
as to the thread debate, AI is not a zero sum thing. simply a matter of adapting to and negotiating changing realities
welcome to life
