an example: dude I shot a bunch of wicked content with several years ago. it still sells very well

when c4s asked for a new model release and ID stuff (copy of ID, pic holding it) I created a new model release that not only covered my c4s studios but also 'general', my site, and listed every damn platform I was using at the time. he was cool with it, but was a PITA for him to have to download adobe just to sign a fucking release he'd already happily signed for me way back when

now, there are two newer sites I use where I know the stuff would sell well, but I'm not about to drag him through that whole hassle all over again for two fucking sites. he'd probs do it if I asked, but we don't even live on the same island anymore, I only talk to him twice a year on whatsapp just to touch base

I can't read the future, I couldn't possibly have listed sites I hadn't joined yet, or in one case didn't even exist at the time that I wrote the new model release for him to sign

I get that 2257/consent rules have changed dramatically and will continue to do so, and that some platforms go further with their requirements as CYA in anticipation of new legal req's arising down the line, but it does make things considerable more difficult for those with legal copyright to content that's more than a few years old. those who followed all the rules that were in place at the time

for peeps like Joe with massive back catalogues it must be hella frustrating
Its exactly that. Not only does it take a week for them to approve model takes another week to approve video. Having said that they did get back saying I dont need download thier consent form I can use mine. So thats a start.
