I could see trying to halt the release of the pics, but I don't know about the guying being held and being charged with extortion. It would be nice to know all the real circumstances. The biggest question really lies in who has legal ownership of the pics in question. Assuming the release is a forgery (ummm sure).
The photographer owns the copyright i.e. the pictures.
The model owns the likeness rights i.e. the right to make money off of them.
Under any standard release the model gives over that right to the photographer (right to profit and other things).
She obviously was present at the shoot. Now fun question is once you reach celebrity status you ussually give up certain rights pertaining to your likeness being used. I.E. tabloids, razzi, etc. So is a release needed?
