I personally, from what I have learned over the years, don't think that intelligence depends on brain size at all. Although it is common I don't see why the functions of our large brain could not be performed in the same way, but on a smaller scale. It always puzzled by why they thought species in the past with small brains were stupid. It?s very common now a day but for all we know, was not the way it was in the past.
I really could be wrong through, who knows. Maybe its already been proven. Just my drunken ramble
